Assistant Professor in the Department of Church History

 

B.A. in History with Concentrations in Classics and Medieval and Renaissance Studies, University of Dallas; M.Phil in Medieval History, University of Cambridge; Ph.D. in History, University of Cambridge, Thesis: ‘Sacred and Secular History in the Writings of Bede (†735)’. His research interests include Medieval Biblical Exegesis, Christian Historiography, Anglo-Saxon History, Early Medieval History, Monasticism, and Conversion. Forthcoming article, ‘The Venerable Bede as Scholar, Gentile, and Preacher’ in R. McKitterick, R. Corradini, et. al., eds., Ego Trouble Authors and their Identities in the Early Middle Ages (Vienna, Fall 2008). Member of the American Historical Association, Ecclesiastical History Society, International Society of Anglo-Saxonists, Medieval Academy of America, and Society for the Study of the Bible in the Middle Ages.
